Notes

How to store leftover celery steaks?
To store leftover celery steaks, you should first allow them to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, place the steaks in an airtight container or wrap them tightly with plastic wrap. Store them in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Can you freeze celery steaks?
It's not recommended to freeze celery steaks because the freezing process will break down the cell structure of the celery and change its texture and flavor. However, if you have to freeze celery for some reason, you can follow these steps:
  1. Cut the celery stalks into steaks and blanch them in boiling water for 3-4 minutes.
  2. Transfer the blanched celery steaks to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process and cool them down quickly.
  3. Pat the celery steaks dry and place them in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Place the baking sheet in the freezer and freeze the celery steaks for 1-2 hours, or until they are frozen solid.
  5. Once frozen, transfer the celery steaks to an airtight container or freezer bag.
  6. Label the container with the date and store it in the freezer for up to 6 months.
Keep in mind that frozen celery steaks will have a different texture and flavor than fresh ones, so it's best to use them in cooked dishes rather than eating them raw.
Reheating celery steaks
When ready to reheat, you can either microwave them or place them back on the grill for a few minutes until warmed through. However, keep in mind that leftover celery steaks may lose some of their texture and flavor when reheated.
