Ingredients

Air fryer fried mushrooms Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) button mushrooms or cremini mushrooms
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour (for gluten-free, use gluten-free all-purpose flour blend) for extra crispiness substitute half of the all purpose flour with panko bread crumbs.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • Cooking spray or oil for spraying/brushing the air fryer basket

Instructions

How to make Beer batter air fryer mushroom Instructions:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Clean the mushrooms and remove any stems. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Whisk together to combine.
  • Slowly pour the cold beer into the flour mixture while whisking continuously, until you have a smooth wet batter. Adjust the amount of beer if needed to achieve a slightly thick, yet pourable consistency.
  • Dip each mushroom into the batter, coating it thoroughly. Allow any excess batter to drip off.
  • Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket with cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking.
  • Arrange the battered mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they don't touch each other.
  • Air fry the mushrooms at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. They should turn golden brown and crispy.
  • Once cooked, transfer the beer-battered air-fried mushrooms to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining mushrooms until all are cooked.
  • Serve the air-fried beer-battered mushrooms hot as an appetizer or snack. They are delicious on their own or paired with your favorite dipping sauce.
Enjoy these crispy and flavorful beer-battered mushrooms made in the air fryer. They make a fantastic appetizer or party snack!
