Ingredients
4largePortobello Mushrooms
½cupAll Purpose Flouruse gluten-free flour for Gluten-free version
1tspGarlic Powder
1tspSmoked Paprikaor regular paprika
½tspSalt
¼tspGround Black Pepper
2Eggs(use 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk for vegan version)
1cupPanko Breadcrumbsuse gluten-free breadcrumbs, almond flour or crushed corn flakes for GF version
Cooking sprayor 2 tbsp avocado oil
Instructions
Clean the portobello mushrooms and slice them into thin fries.
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. (for vegan version, simply pour plant milk into a separate bowl)
Pour the Panko breadcrumbs into another bowl.Dip each mushroom fry in the flour mixture, then the eggs, and finally coat them with the Panko breadcrumbs.
Place the mushroom fries in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overlapping.Spray the fries with cooking spray.
Cook at 375°F for 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crispy.Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy your delicious portobello mushroom fries!Note: each air fryer cooks differently, so you may need to adjust the cooking time accordingly. My air fryer cooks more slowly so I had to add 5 minutes extra to the cooking time.
