  • 6 Tbsp unsalted butter melted (regular or vegan butter)

No bake chocolate silk pie Cheesecake Layer:

  • 12 oz (340g) cream cheese room temperature
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz (227g) Cool Whip refrigerated, or vegan whipped cream

No bake Chocolate Pudding Layer: Easy Chocolate Ganache

  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream or vegan heavy cream substitute
  • 8 ounces (225g) dark or semi-sweet chocolate finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter (optional, for extra richness)

Chocolate lasagna Top Layer:

  • 8 oz (227g) Cool Whip refrigerated (whipped topping) or vegan whipped cream

How to make no bake chocolate pudding pie

    Step 1: make easy homemade chocolate ganache

    • Heat Cream: In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it simmers. Avoid boiling.
    • Prepare Chocolate: Place the finely chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
    • Pour Over Chocolate: Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate. Allow it to sit undisturbed for a minute to let the chocolate melt.
    • Stir Gently: After a minute, gently stir the mixture with a spatula or whisk until smooth and glossy. If you desire extra richness, you can add butter at this stage and stir until fully incorporated.
    • Cool and Use: Let the ganache cool for a few minutes before using it. It will thicken slightly as it cools. Use it as a glaze, drizzle, or frosting as desired.

I've experimented with everything from the basic 4 layers as outlined...but you can just as easily make lots of thinner layers if you prefer a grand visual impact (like you can see in several of my pictures). Go with whichever option you prefer.

    Storage:

    For short-term storage (up to 3–4 days), crown your Chocolate Lasagna with a plastic wrap or aluminum foil robe and place it securely in the refrigerator. This keeps it fresh and ready for spontaneous indulgence.

    Freezing:

    You can freeze Chocolate Lasagna for up to 2–3 months. Ensure it's well-covered with foil or plastic wrap to preserve its flavor. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving.

    FAQ:

    Can I substitute the cool whip?
    Yes! Although, we have found cool whip to work the best as it holds the shape and consistency the best. However, if you want to substitute cool whip you can seamlessly substitute it with an equal amount of whipped cream sweetened with sugar.
    For an 8 oz cool whip replacement, whip up 1 ½ cups of heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form. Add 3 tbsp of powdered sugar and continue beating until you reach the dreamy realm of medium/stiff peaks, yielding 3 cups of pure whipped bliss.
