Notes

Pro Tip
If your tomatoes are very juicy, scoop out the seeds before dicing for a thicker salsa. Prefer that flavorful tomato juice at the bottom? Leave it in — it’s liquid gold!
Optional Add-Ins & Variations
  • Spicy: Add minced jalapeño, serrano chili, or a pinch of smoked paprika.
  • Fruity: Stir in diced mango or pineapple for a sweet-spicy twist.
  • Smoky: Roast your tomatoes and onions before chopping for a rich, authentic tomato salsa recipe vibe.
  • Lemon Lovers: Make it a tomato salsa with lemon instead of lime — bright and extra tangy!
Storage & Make-Ahead Tips
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir before serving and adjust salt and lemon juice as needed. Add cilantro right before serving to keep it fresh and vibrant.

Serve this homemade tomato salsa with tortilla chips, tacos, burrito bowls, grilled vegetables, or alongside guacamole for the best homemade salsa for parties.
