Savory grilled pears recipe Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe pears sliced in half and cored
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves

Grilled pears dessert recipe Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe pears sliced in half and cored
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • Vanilla ice cream or my vegan s’mores ice cream
  • Caramel sauce

Instructions

Savory barbecue pears Instructions:

  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, maple syrup, salt, and pepper.
  • Brush the cut side of each pear half with the olive oil mixture.
    Place the pear halves on the grill, cut side down, and cook for 3-4 minutes or until they are slightly charred.
  • Flip the pears over and grill for an additional 2-3 minutes.
    Remove the pears from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter.
  • Drizzle any remaining olive oil mixture over the pears and sprinkle them with fresh thyme leaves.
    Serve immediately and enjoy!

  • Serve each pear half with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with caramel sauce. Or make it an extra decadent dessert by serving with a scoop of my vegan cookie dough ice cream or vegan s’mores ice cream. Yum!
