How to make Plant based hummus Instructions - Using a Blender:

    • If using a blender, you may need to slightly modify the order of ingredients to help the blending process. Start with liquids at the bottom and work your way up to the solid ingredients.
    • Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides of the blender jar as needed.
    • Follow the same steps for adjusting the consistency and seasoning as in the food processor method.

How to make hummus without food processor

Alternative Methods - Without a Food Processor or Blender:

      • If you don’t have a food processor or blender, you can make hummus using a few different methods:

      Method 1 - Using a Potato Masher:

      • Mash the chickpeas using a potato masher until they are as smooth as possible.
      • Add the other ingredients - lemon juice, tahini, minced garlic, olive oil, ground cumin, and salt.
      • Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.
      • Add water as needed to reach the desired consistency.

Method 2 - Using a Mortar and Pestle:

      • Grind the chickpeas in a mortar and pestle until you have a paste-like consistency.
      • Add the rest of the ingredients and continue grinding until smooth.
      • Adjust the consistency and seasoning with water and additional ingredients as needed.
      • With these methods, you can still enjoy a creamy Greek Hummus even without a food processor or blender. Enjoy your homemade hummus with pita bread, veggies, or as a dip for your favorite snacks.

      Notes

Store for up to 7 days in refrigerator.

      How to Store Hummus:

      - Refrigerate Hummus: Always store hummus in the refrigerator to prolong its freshness.
      - Airtight Container: Transfer your hummus to an airtight container or sealable bag to prevent it from drying out or absorbing other odors in the fridge.
      - Surface Covering: To prevent a skin from forming on the surface, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the hummus before sealing the container.
      - Drizzle of Olive Oil: Before refrigerating, drizzle a thin layer of olive oil on top of the hummus to create a seal and keep it from drying out.
