Equipment

  • 4-5 Jam Jars or Mason jars
  • 1 Large Pot

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (335g) Strawberries hulled and chopped
  • 1 cup (7-8 figs) Fresh Figs stems removed and chopped
  • ¼ cup (4 tbsp) Agave Nectar or Maple Syrup
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract or vanilla powder

Instructions

  • In a large saucepan, combine the chopped strawberries, chopped figs, agave nectar, and lemon juice. Give it a good stir.
  • Heat the mixture on medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the fruit begins to break down and become soft.
  • Reduce the heat to medium and continue stirring for another 5-10 minutes until the mixture has thickened.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.Using an immersion blender or food processor, blend the mixture until it's smooth.
  • Allow the jam to cool to room temperature before transferring it to a jar or container and refrigerating.

Notes

Homemade jam will keep for 3-5 weeks in the refrigerator when kept in a clean sealed airtight jar or jam jar.
