Vegetarian Pizza With Apples and Caramelized Onions
This Mind-blowing vegetarian pizza with apples and caramelized onions is so incredibly tasty it should come with a warning…because it’s almost impossible to stop eating until it’s all gone (consider yourself warned).
This pizza recipe is a very untraditional and absolutely delicious spin on pizza. It almost tastes like a combination between cake and pizza, but it’s actually healthy for you.
I like to use fresh Feta cheese on this pizza, because the feta brings out the best in the apples and onions…but you can easily use buffalo mozzarella, vegan cheese or just leave out the cheese altogether.

If you don’t have a lot of time, but you would still prefer to make your own pizza dough, you can find my favourite quick homemade pizza dough recipe here. This dough is ready in under 10 minutes thanks to the magical powers of baking powder.
However, if you have just a little more time and energy you can make one of my favourite pizza dough recipes – my original Italian pizza dough. It’s the award winning pizza dough invented and used in Italy. Yum.
Vegan apples and caramelised onions pizza version
Making this pizza recipe vegan can be accomplished in several ways. You can take the quick shortcut and just leave out the feta cheese and any vegan cheese substitutions. The pizza is still delicious without cheese.
If you’re craving cheesy flavours, you can always add 2 tbsp nutritional yeast to the basil pesto. It will create that amazing cheesy taste and add extra health benefits…nutritional yeast is a win-win in my opinion.
For the ultimate vegan version of this pizza, I recommend adding 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast to the basil pesto and topping the pizza with 1/3 cup crumbled firm tofu to give that creamy feta texture. It’s so good.
