Amazing easy Fakeout vegan bell pepper pizza

Jump to Recipe

This amazing easy fakeout vegan bell pepper pizza is one of my favourite easy go to vegan comfort food recipes. It tastes like a slice of heaven and it’s topped with everything cheesy, delicious and vegan your heart could desire. Whenever I crave takeout, this is the recipe I turn to.

It’s a better than takeout pizza, if you ask me. Partly because it’s vegan and partly because it’s actually quicker to make this pizza than it is to get takeout. And it requires almost zero cooking skills for maximum tastiness.

There are 3 real stars of this pizza. The first is the pizza dough, which obviously makes the foundation and works as the carrier for all the deliciousness it’s topped with. The second star in this pizza is also the least visible one, but it makes all the difference: the vegan garlic cream cheese. The garlic cream cheese adds a creamy, decadent richness to the pizza that compliments the third star, the peppers. Together these three elements creates an irresistible feast that is garlicky, devious and completely irresistible.

All you need to make this vegan pizza is:

  • 1 large pizza dough or 2 smaller pizza doughs
  • 1/2 cup vegan garlic cream cheese (I like to use my homemade cashew garlic cream cheese, but you can easily use a store bought one)
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 5 black olives
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • Nutritional yeast (optional)
  • Dried oregano

What’s great about this amazing easy fakeout vegan bell pepper pizza recipe:

  • Everything, and I mean everything
  • Delicious and cheesy
  • Vegan and decadent
  • Mouthwateringly garlicky with a hint of spice from the peppers
  • Made using only a few simple ingredients
  • Quick and easy to make
  • A crowdpleaser pizza

Homemade pizza dough vs store-bought pizza dough

You can use either for this pizza, depending on the time you have at hand or the energy you have to invest in dinner. Of course home made pizza dough makes this pizza just a little bit better, but if you don’t have the time, no worries. You can just as well use a store bought ready-to-bake pizza dough and it will be just as great as takeout pizza.

If you are looking for a great homemade pizza dough recipe, you can take a look at my favourites here. (Note; I always recommend making 2-3 times as much pizza dough when you’re making it yourself, so yo can freeze the rest for another day).

What vegan garlic cream cheese should I use?

If you already have your favourite homemade vegan garlic cheese in the refrigerator then I recommend using that. If you don’t have a favourite homemade vegan cream cheese recipe yet, check out my favourite easy vegan garlic cream cheese recipe here. This amazing vegan garlic cream cheese is my favourite … and not just because it’s really simple to make. No, it’s also deliciously creamy, cheesy and loaded with garlic flavours. And it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. That’s why I like to keep a jar of this cream cheese in my refrigerator at all times.

But, no more talk. I promised you my famous cream cheese recipe, so here it is:

Vegan Garlic Cream Cheese

  • 1+½ cup Raw Cashews Soaked in hot water for 15 minutes
  • ¼ cup Unsweeted non-dairy Yogurt
  • Lemon Juice 1 tbsp
  • Apple Cider Vinegar 1 tbsp
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • ½ tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • and a Pinch of salt

Instructions

Making the vegan garlic cream cheese

  • Start by soaking the cashews for 10-minutes in boiling water or leave them to soak overnight in cold water if you want your cream cheese to be extra creamy. Drain and rinse the cashews and add them to a food processor.
  • Next, add non-dairy yogurt, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder and dried oregano and blend until smooth. You may need to scrape the sides down a few times to get everything blended to the same texture. Finally, add extra salt if needed. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

However, in case you are not in the mood to soak cashew nuts or find your new favourite vegan cream cheese recipe, then I recommend just buying a vegan garlic cream cheese at the grocery store.

This pizza recipe is all about making your life easier, so go with the easiest option available.

How is this amazing vegan pepper pizza made? It’s very straightforward. Just:

  • Roll out your pizza dough and place it on the lined baking sheet. Next, generously spread the vegan garlic cream all over the pizza dough, stopping 1/2 inch from the edges. Top with tomato paste and spread that out gently and slightly haphazardly. Sprinkle nutritional yeast over the pizza.
  • Next, cut the bell peppers into slices. Place the sliced bell peppers on top of the pizza and sprinkle olive slices and chopped spring onions on top.
  • Season with dried oregano and salt. (Optionally: top with vegan shredded cheese at this stage)Next, bake the pizza in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the pizza dough is golden at the edges. Serve hot and enjoy.
