This super easy garlic butter pasta recipe is a minimal effort maximum reward dinner. It’s deliciously creamy and ready to eat in just around 20 minutes. It’s so easy and almost ridiculously simple to make, yet the results are mouthwateringly good.
I got the idea for this pasta straight from Milan, Italy. Leave it to the Italians to take a few simple ingredients and turn it into a delicious masterpiece. It’s oh so good.

My super easy garlic butter pasta is so easy I almost wasn’t going to share it on the blog, but then I decided a super easy and tasty gem of a recipe like this needs to be shared with the world.

What makes this an easy quick cheat recipe

I call this my Super Easy Wuick Cheat Garlic Butter Pasta, because I usually like to cheat and serve it with storebought ravioli. Although I sometimes make my own ravioli (and it’s absolutely amazing) I don’t always want to spend the 2 hours it takes to make my own. But luckily there’s always a quick and easy cheat for those days – and that’s called “a trip to the grocery store”.
This garlic butter sauce can be served with any type of pasta, and I also make it with spaghetti…but my very favorite way is eating this sauce with ravioli. There’s just something about those stuffed pasta pockets filled with mushrooms or creamy spinach and ricotta that’s when it’s accompanied by my garlic sauce takes me straight to foodie heaven. It’s that buttery, cheesy, garlicy and absolutely mouthwatering sauce combined with al dente pasta that’s irresistibly good.

What type of pasta should you use

You can use any type of pasta for this recipe. I like to use the traditional spinach and ricotta stuffed ravioli pasta, but you can just as easily serve this sauce with spaghetti or your preferred pasta type. There’s no rules or limits. The creamy garlic butter sauce brings out the best in any pasta, enhancing the flavors of the butter and parmesan.

Instructions

  • Heat a large pot filled with water to boiling and add the pasta. Season the water with plenty of salt and let the pasta cook at medium high heat (the water should be bubbling a little, but not about to boil over). Leave the pasta to cook as instructed on the package and make sure to keep an eye on it to make sure it’s cooked al dente. Once the pasta is al dente, take it off the heat and drain away the water.
  • When the pasta is almost done cooking, melt butter in a pan and add garlic and salt. Let the garlic cook at medium heat for 2 minutes, before removing from the heat.
  • Serve the pasta with a generous drizzle of garlic butter, freshly grated pepper, grated parmesan and freshly chopped parsley.Enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 3 9 oz packs Ravioli or your preferred type of pasta
  • 5 tbsp Butter
  • 5 cloves Garlic Minced or finely chopped
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ tsp Freshly grated Pepper
  • ¼ cup Grated Parmesan
  • 1 bunch Fresh Parsley for garnish
