with Sesame Grilled Zucchini and Garlic Butter

Jump to Recipe

This quick easy yeastless naan bread is one of my favorite yeastless bread recipes. It’s quick to make, fluffy, tender and ready in barely 25 minutes…it’s a slight variation on the classic naan bread, but it’s just as soft, doughy and delicious. Served with melted garlic butter and fresh herbs it’s irresistibly good.
Fluffy tender naan bread served with melted garlic butter, fresh herbs and topped with sesame grilled zucchinis…it doesn’t get any better than this.
You can serve alongside your favorite indian dishes, with any grilled veggies, hummus or just as is. I can’t get enough of this naan bread recipe.
I like to serve my naan bread as a side to almost everything I make, because it just makes everything better with it’s fluffy texture and add that mouthwatering garlic butter and it just doesn’t get much better than this.
Currently, my favorite easy way to eat my naan bread is with my zucchini grilled sesame, melted garlic butter and lots of dips. It feels like a decadent party everytime I make it, even though it’s barely any effort to make and takes no time at all.

Sesame Grilled Zucchini

This sesame grilled zucchini recipe is so simple and so good I don’t even have the words to describe it. They are irresistibly good with delicious, soft and melty zucchini slices that’s golden and slightly crispy on the outside covered in nutty sesame seeds. Somehow something so simple shouldn’t be this good, yet they are so good they should almost come with a warning (I can’t stop eating them, so consider yourself warned).

Vegan naan bread

If you’re looking for a vegan version of this naan bread, I’ve got you covered. As you probably know by now, I like to experiment with making my favorite recipes vegetarian and vegan, and this recipe is no different.
My favorite vegan version is simply to substitute the dairy butter with vegan butter and replace the Greek yogurt with a thick non-dairy yogurt (I like to use soy yogurt, but you can use your favorite).
Even with non-dairy substitutes these naan breads still become mouthwateringly good and oh so fluffy.

How is this Quick Easy Yeastless Naan Bread with Sesame Grilled Zucchini made? It’s so easy. Just:

Instructions

Naan Bread

  • In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt.
  • Add the yogurt and water and stir everything together, until the dough is firm and elastic. Quickly knead the dough on a flour dusted clean surface and divide it into 8 equal parts.
  • Roll out the dough thinly into 8 semi round shapes and brush them with a little oil on one side.
  • Next, heat a large non-stick pan and when it’s nice and hot, place the first naan bread with the oil brushed side facing down. While the naan cooks at medium high heat, brush a little oil on the side facing up. Once the dough starts creating little bubbles and begins to turn golden brown (lift a corner of the dough up to check if its progress) flip the bread carefully over and cook it on the other side for 1-2 minutes or until it’s golden brown. Remove from the pan and place on a rack to cool. Repeat until all the naan breads are cooked.

Sesame Grilled Zucchini

  • Preheat the oven to 400F.
  • Slice all the zucchinis and place them on a baking sheet covered in baking parchments. Pour olive oil, sesame seeds, salt and pepper over the zucchini slices and mix together until the zucchinis are coated in olive oil and sesame seeds.
  • Cook the zucchinis in the oven for 20 minutes (stir halfway through) or until they are golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve with the naan bread.

Garlic Butter

  • Put the minced garlic and butter in a microwave safe bowl and heat it in the microwave for 10 seconds or until the butter is completely melted.

To Serve

  • Serve the naan bread topped with melted garlic butter, a sprinkle of fresh parsley and a side of sesame zucchinis and enjoy.
