Gyros Spice Mix

This Gyros Spice mix is one of my favorite ever. I put it on pretty much everything. Whether it’s grilled veggies or one pot dishes, it adds so much depth, flavor and a bite of hotness. It’s so good!

I originally came across this Gyros spice mix in Greece. It was one of those flavours that just speeks right to your soul. I instantly knew I had to find out what it was and how I could recreate it at home. Because, let’s face it, one of the great things about traveling is bringing a little piece of it with you home. It took a bit of research and trial and error, but the result was all worth it.

How to use this Gyros Spice Mix

Put it on any type of veggies – eggplants, squash, potatoes, you name it – or use it to spice up tofu, jackfruit and any kind of plant meat substitutes. It adds extra richness, deepth and a delicious edge of heat from the cayenne pepper (without being too hot).

Try putting it on my Grilled Eggplants or on my Kidney Bean Skewers

It’s one of those spices that’s here to take over the world. It’s so good on everything, so don’t be afraid to use it to season plant based meat alternatives, eggplants, squash, pumpkins – you name it.

Mixing it:

Pour all the spices into a bowl and mix together with a spoon. Store the spice mix in a dry container.

It can be stored and used for up to 12 months. After that it will start to lose a bit of its flavor.
